Job Summary/Objective

The Warehouse Technician is responsible for retrieving, moving, and stacking merchandise. Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, and stages product using material handling equipment such as forklifts. Documents and maintains inventory. Ensures warehouse areas are organized and clean. Maintains equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.


Primary Responsibilities

• Maintains organized files and records.

• Prepares equipment by pulling materials needed, setting equipment as directed, and moving product/sites to the appropriate staging/shipping area for the installation crews to pick up.

• Stacks and stores product/equipment in the appropriate areas.

• Prepares and stages product/equipment for outbound shipments using the appropriate carriers when necessary.

• Unloads inbound shipments and moves product/equipment to the appropriate storage locations.

• Removes trash and cardboard when product/equipment is unwrapped, assembled, etc.

• Prepares and completes warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule.

• Maintains inventory accuracy through proper warehouse management practices.

• Maintains a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient working environment.


Minimum Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Possesses a valid driver’s license

• Maintains a DOT medical card



Preferred and Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Two plus years of experience working in a warehouse environment

• Forklift experience

• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and processes.

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the warehouse industry.

• Knowledge of 5S, Standard Work, Lean concepts


Skills Required

• Successfully pass and maintain certifications for all required powered industrial equipment training within 60 days of hire.

• Pass and maintain a DOT medical card.

• Strong written and verbal communication and comprehension skills.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with a strong attention to detail and an emphasis on safety.

• Excellent time management skills with an ability to shift priorities and multi-task when necessary.

• Excellent organizational skills and work ethic.


Direct/Indirect Supervisory Responsibility

• None


Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required

• Routinely drives assigned fleet vehicles

• Works in an unairconditioned warehouse/yard with occasional office environment exposure.

• Occasionally required to travel (less than 10%)

• Physical demands include frequent sitting, walking, standing, balancing, bending and lifting.

• May be required to lift 10-100 lbs occasionally.
