Job description
Overview
QXO is a leading distributor and installer of building products serving an $800 billion market. The company's mission is to modernize the building products industry through advanced technology and a best-in-class customer experience. QXO is North America's largest distributor and installer of insulation, the second-largest distributor of roofing products, the second-largest publicly traded distributor of lumber and building materials, and the largest distributor of waterproofing products. What you will do:- Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs
- Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load
- Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site
- Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading
- Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products
- Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid Class B CDL license in good standing
- 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred
- Conveyor truck experience a plus
- Experience operating manual transmission truck preferred
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
