Job description

OverviewLorien Columbia is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our team.  We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and dependable cook who is passionate about preparing quality meals and committed to enhancing the dining experience for our residents. The ideal candidate is eager to explore new cooking techniques, embrace best practices in dietary services, and incorporate innovative approaches into established meal programs. As a member of our Dietary Team, you will play an important role in supporting resident health, satisfaction, and quality of life through nutritious, well-prepared meals and exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • High School diploma or GED, a plus 
  • Must be at least 18 years old 
  • Serve Safe Certification, a plus
  • Knowledge of Dietary procedures 
  • Batch Cooking
  • Sanitation Knowledge

  • Integrity and a strong work ethic 
  • Must be a team player with a strong work ethic and the willingness to help where and when it is needed 
Qualifications
  • Part Time and PRN Hours
  • Schedule: 5:30a-2p
  • Every-other weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 25-50 pounds as part of daily job responsibilities, with or without reasonable accomodation.

Our facility includes skilled nursing, rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, as well as the only Korean nursing unit in Howard County with 205 beds total, 5 nursing units.
