Position Summary
The Logos Student Newspaper Editor is the primary person in charge of writing, editing, designing The Logos, the student-run newspaper. The Logos Student Newspaper Editor reports to the Faculty Advisor for The Logos.
This can be work study or student employment.
Essential Functions
  • Cover campus assignments.
  • Write stories.
  • Take photographs.
  • Lay out pages.
  • Monitor telephone (answer, take messages, etc.).
  • General clerical duties.
  • Distribute newspapers.
  • Promote newspaper.
  • Update interactive website.
  • Other duties as assigned by Logos student editors and/or adviser (supervisor).

Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to demonstrate writing, editing, design, photography and other skills.
  • Ability to self start projects.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
  • Be a full-time UIW student.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5, with a 3.0 in the major discipline.
  • Be at least a junior (exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the hiring committee).

Preference given to students with previous high school or college journalistic experience (newspaper, yearbook, magazine, anthology, broadcasting class, website, etc.)
