Job description

Job Summary

The part-time (approx. 20/week) Ad Salesperson will be responsible for generating new business, managing client relationships, and closing sales for advertising services. You will work with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored advertising solutions across various platforms (digital, print, etc.).


Essential Job Functions

  • Sales Generation: Identify, prospect, and develop new client accounts to meet sales targets and objectives.
  • Client relations: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
  • Consultative Selling: Conduct needs assessments with clients to understand their business goals and recommend the most effective advertising solutions.
  • Sales Presentations: Create and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients, showcasing the value of advertising services.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee ad campaigns from proposal to execution, ensuring they meet client expectations and deliver results.
  • Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and client preferences to provide innovative advertising solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the creative and marketing teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, effective campaigns as needed.
  • Reporting & Tracking: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client communications, and campaign performance. 


Position Requirements

  • Attend staff meetings as necessary.
  • Skills necessary: research, knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet, database usage experience, responsible, able to effectively communicate with JCCs & Federation constituents, knowledge of utilizing office equipment, superior organizational skills.
  • Years of experience: At least 5 years in sales
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.


Physical Requirements

  • Lifting, pushing and pulling up to 10 pounds using proper body mechanics and/or available equipment as physically required – including but not limited to moving supplies and office furniture etc.
  • Physical stamina – must be able to bend, kneel, and squat as required to maintain donor files and record, etc.
  • Must be able to sit at a desk in an office environment at least 80% of the work shift. Ability to walk and stand intermittently for the remaining 20% of the assigned workday.
  • Work is mainly performed in a weather controlled, air conditioned/heated facility. Facility is well lit and has minimal obstacles.
  • Position uses typical office environment apparatus including computer, printer, fax machine and copier.
