Contract: IDIQ Naval Postgraduate School Research and Educational Support Service (RES) IDIQ
Task Order: NPS Extended Campus Support Services
Location: Monterey, CA (Onsite at NPS)
Clearance: Public Trust
Openings: 1
Salary Range: $65,000-$78,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to support the Naval Postgraduate School's Extended Campus programs. This role focuses on producing highquality written materials-including technical documents, reports, publications, and communication products-that support academic, instructional, and institutional needs. The ideal candidate brings strong writing, editing, and qualityassurance experience, along with the ability to work independently in a fastpaced academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, proofread, and review technical and academic documents.
  • Prepare publications, reports, white papers, fact sheets, and other written materials.
  • Ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to qualityassurance standards.
  • Support the development of multimedia content, web features, press releases, and newsletter articles.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and subjectmatter experts to gather information and translate it into clear, accessible written content.
  • Maintain version control, documentation, and editorial workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in technical writing, proofreading, editing, publication, review, and quality assurance.
  • BA/BS degree in communications, journalism, English, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in technical or scientific writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently research, write, and edit materials such as white papers, fact sheets, multimedia content, web features, press releases, and newsletter articles.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
