Job description

About Future Finance

Future Finance is building the next generation of financial media: a daily newsletter that makes markets, investing, economics, and wealth creation engaging, actionable, and easy to understand for a modern audience.

Our goal is simple: become a daily habit for ambitious professionals who want to become smarter investors and better-informed consumers of financial information.

We're not going to out-spend our way to an audience. We're going to out-think, out-create, and out-connect everyone else in this space.

The Role

We're not looking for someone who scales Meta or Google budgets. We're looking for someone who can look at a newsletter, a brand, a content library, and a network - and find growth hiding in plain sight.

This is a creative, relationship-driven, operator role. You'll be the person who figures out how to add 10,000 subscribers without spending $10,000. You'll build partnerships, create content that spreads, design referral loops, and unlock distribution channels that money can't buy - working hand in hand with our writers and publishers to fuel growth.

If your instinct when you see a problem is to increase ad spend, this isn't the right fit. If your instinct is to ask "who already has our audience, and how do we build something together?" - read on.

Success in this role looks like:

  • Net new subscribers acquired
  • Subscriber quality and engagement rates
  • Partnership and co-marketing velocity
  • Organic content reach and conversion
  • Cost per subscriber
What You'll Own

Build Organic Distribution Engines

  • Identify and pursue newsletter swap and cross-promotion partnerships with complementary audiences
  • Develop and manage an affiliate and ambassador program - turning readers into recruiters
  • Land podcast appearances, media mentions, and guest editorial placements
  • Build relationships with creators, influencers, and community leaders who already own the audience we want
  • Source and negotiate co-marketing partnerships with brands, tools, and platforms aligned with our readers

Create Content That Acquires Subscribers

  • Develop lead magnets, free resources, and tools that convert strangers into subscribers
  • Identify viral content formats and angles that drive sharing and organic reach
  • Repurpose newsletter content across LinkedIn, X, Reddit, YouTube, and TikTok to generate inbound traffic
  • Write or brief landing page copy that converts organic visitors at a high rate
  • Build an SEO content strategy that generates compounding inbound traffic over time

Design and Optimize Referral & Viral Loops

  • Build and optimize a subscriber referral program (SparkLoop, Beehiiv Boosts, or custom-built)
  • Identify the moments in the subscriber journey where readers are most likely to share
  • Test referral incentives, mechanics, and messaging to maximize word-of-mouth growth
  • Track viral coefficient and engineer improvements to it systematically

Grow Through Community and Events

  • Identify online communities (Reddit, Facebook Groups, Discord, Slack) where our audience lives
  • Develop a presence and contribution strategy in those communities - not spam, genuine value
  • Explore webinars, Twitter Spaces, and live events as subscriber acquisition and retention tools
  • Build relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets for earned media and press coverage

Measure and Iterate Relentlessly

  • Report weekly on growth metrics, channel performance, and what's next

Requirements

Who You Are
  • 3+ years of experience in growth, content marketing, or audience development
  • Track record: demonstrated success growing an audience, community, newsletter, or media brand without relying primarily on paid advertising
  • Strong writer: you can craft a pitch, a partnership email, a landing page, or a social post that actually works - and then works again
  • Resourceful and scrappy: you've built things with limited budgets and found ways to punch above your weight
  • Relationship-driven: you know how to cold outreach, build rapport, and close a partnership
  • Analytical: you know what's working and when to pivot
Bonus Points
  • A deep interest in stocks, DeFi, markets, crypto, and finance
  • Experience running or growing a newsletter (any niche)
  • Experience with referral platforms like SparkLoop, Beehiiv Boosts, or ReferralHero
  • Experience with SEO and content-led growth strategies
  • Background in financial media, investing, fintech, or personal finance content
  • Existing relationships with creators, podcasters, or newsletters in the finance or business space
  • Familiarity with tools like Beehiiv, ConvertKit, Kit, or similar newsletter platforms
Ideal Candidate Profile

You are someone who:

  • Thinks in systems - you don't just run one-off tactics, you build things that compound
  • Has strong opinions about what makes content worth sharing
  • Reads newsletters obsessively and notices what's working in the market
  • Can write a cold partnership email that actually gets a response
  • Knows the difference between vanity metrics and the numbers that actually matter

You've probably grown something - a newsletter, a community, a social account, a blog. That's the energy we're looking for.

Benefits

What do we offer
  • Competitive salary + performance-based incentives
  • Company offsites
  • Remote work
  • High ownership, high-impact role
