Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position exists to develop Ascentra's community outreach through fostering authentic relationships with community partners aligned with Ascentra's strategic goals and the credit union mission of people helping people. This position is responsible for carrying out Ascentra's philanthropic efforts and developing relationships with our non-profit and community partners while successfully promoting the organization's brand, mission, and culture. As a credit union director, the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with community partners at all levels is of great importance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serve as a key contact for community partners to develop and enhance our relationship and collaborative efforts of serving others.
2. Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and grow our community partnerships that align with our philosophy.
3. Identify community needs and opportunities for collaboration, ensuring that partnership programs are responsive to the community's needs.
4. Coordinate and manage ongoing credit union events, foundation events, sponsorship activities, and internal programs.
5. Coordinate internal and external activities related to events while maximizing exposure through social media, website and press releases.
6. Partner with vendors to source and order promotional items and collaborate with the team to develop custom designs when needed.
7. Responsible for upholding brand standards, consistency, quality, timeliness and effectiveness of all external and internal communications.
8. Plan, create and distribute the bi-weekly internal newsletter supporting internal communications and employee engagement.
9. Oversee the internal volunteer program and provide staff with opportunities to serve by partnering with our non-profit and community partners on volunteer opportunities through their organization.
10. Assist with the credit union's foundation and non-profit grant process and committee meetings.
11. Assist with testing, training materials, and member communications related to new products, services, and system enhancements.
12. Assist with community development and public relations activities and events in the new and existing market, pursuing involvement in community projects.
13. Collaborate with cross departments to support product launches, campaigns, website initiatives, ads, and strategic marketing efforts.
14. Assist in determining the best use of the budget and adhering to budget parameters when proposing recommendations.
15. Actively and thoughtfully communicating with their supervisor, planning their goals and development, taking accountability for their actions, and striving for excellence.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
Three to five years' experience in communication, public relations, marketing digital marketing or event planning.
Knowledge and ability to use various computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Excellent decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be exceptionally organized and appropriately prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
Self-motivated.
Team player.
Able to effectively manage projects from start to finish.
Valid driver's license and comprehensive automotive insurance including liability coverage.
Willingness to work some evening and weekend hours.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
