Description:

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) at Hyper Solutions is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of supplier-provided materials, components, and assemblies used in Hyper Solutionsโ€™ products. This role works closely with suppliers, procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to monitor supplier performance, resolve supplier-related quality issues, and ensure materials meet Hyperโ€™s specifications and quality standards.

This position plays a key role in building scalable supplier quality systems that support Hyperโ€™s rapid growth and mission-critical infrastructure products. The Supplier Quality Engineer drives supplier development, leads corrective action initiatives, and supports supplier readiness for new product introductions and engineering changes.

Core Responsibilities
  • Monitor supplier quality performance to ensure materials meet Hyper specifications and quality standards.
  • Lead supplier corrective action processes including SCAR management and structured root cause investigations.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits and evaluate supplier manufacturing processes and quality control plans.
  • Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and approval processes.
  • Partner with suppliers to improve process capability, defect prevention, and manufacturing quality.
  • Track supplier performance metrics and drive improvement initiatives across the supplier base.
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support implementation of supplier inspection strategies based on supplier risk, maturity, and performance.
  • Coordinate with incoming inspection teams to ensure appropriate inspection plans and sampling methods are applied.
  • Support supplier readiness for new product introduction (NPI) programs and engineering changes.
  • Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities when applicable.
  • Develop supplier scorecards, dashboards, and quality performance reporting.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers on inspection requirements, process controls, and quality standards.
What Youโ€™ll Be Doing Day-to-Day
  • Reviewing supplier defect reports and coordinating corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Communicating with suppliers to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Analyzing supplier performance data and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Participating in supplier audits and manufacturing process evaluations.
  • Supporting supplier readiness for new product launches and engineering changes.
  • Collaborating with procurement and engineering teams to ensure supplier alignment.
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with supplier quality, manufacturing quality, and supplier development programs.
  • Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
  • Experience working with mission-critical electrical infrastructure or power distribution equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical components such as circuit breakers, bus bars, transformers, PCBs, and power distribution assemblies.
  • Experience supporting supplier qualification programs including FAI or PPAP.
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 17025.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ASTM, IPC, or UL.

Compensation

The anticipated minimum hiring range for this role is $90,000 -$110,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, and location. This hire will be eligible for a discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
