JOB DESCRIPTION:

The New Product Development Leader located in Bayport, MN is a key role within the Andersen Division Research Development and Innovation (RD&I) Team supporting the 100 Series Windows Business. This leader will have direct supervision over design engineers and will report to the Research Development Director. This role is responsible for the delivery of engineering solutions that support achieving the business results for revenue growth and gross margin delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and work direction to the engineering team.

  • Partners cross-functionally to define engineering project requirements and success criteria.

  • Actively reviews, monitors, and ensures required engineering deliverables are complete on time.

  • Ensures that engineering solutions meet project requirements in terms of functionality, durability, human centric design, quality levels, and unit product cost.

  • Identifies and drives efficiencies in project execution.

  • Proactively partners with project leaders on engineering risk identification and management.

  • Acts as a liaison between the New Product Development Team and the Enterprise RD&I function coordinating timelines and deliverables.

  • Develops and manages expense budgets.

  • Participates in project team meetings and reviews.

Qualifications:

  • BS in engineering

  • 5-7 years of engineering management experience

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

  • Passion for leading and developing a high-performance team.

  • Self-motivated with strong intellectual curiosity.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies with demonstrated ability to manage the critical path and drive projects to completion.

  • Knowledge of mechanical design methodologies and product documentation methods including product data.
