Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented New Product Development Quality Engineer to lead the quality assurance efforts during the introduction of innovative products. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape product quality from inception through ramp-up, working collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or own advanced quality planning activities for new product introductions (NPI) and major process changes, ensuring early risk identification and mitigation.
  • Develop and execute critical quality tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and inspection plans to proactively manage potential failures.
  • Support validation and qualification activities, including first article inspections, PPAP submissions, and launch readiness assessments.
  • Collaborate effectively with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to define and control critical-to-quality characteristics and process controls.
  • Manage comprehensive quality documentation to ensure compliance with launch and production standards.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce design and process risks through proactive quality planning and strategic risk assessments.
  • Facilitate cross-functional review meetings to evaluate validation results, risk mitigation actions, and quality deliverables.
  • Monitor quality performance metrics related to new product launches, driving initiatives focused on defect prevention and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of standardized procedures and best practices that elevate quality assurance during product development and manufacturing ramp-up.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in advanced quality planning, new product development, or similar quality engineering roles.
  • Proven expertise in leading DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and inspection plans within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or leading validation activities, first article inspections, and launch quality deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, quality standards, and failure mode analysis.
  • Experience working with suppliers, with a focus on supplier quality and parts integration, is a plus.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
  • Project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with flexible scheduling options.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00 hourly
