Job description

About PointOne
PointOne is reinventing how law firms operate.
Our AIโ€‘powered timekeeper helps attorneys capture billable time automatically and provides rich insights that transform how legal work is managed. We're a ventureโ€‘backed startup (Y Combinator, Bessemer, 8VC, General Catalyst) made up of software engineers (Jane Street, Google, Stanford, Princeton) and ex-attorneys. Alongside a recent Series A round and rapid customer adoption, we're expanding our engineering team to keep up with overwhelming demand.
Who you are
You have:
  • Significant internship experience at hyper-growth startups and/or leading big tech companies
  • A CS degree from a top university
  • Strong product sense
  • High degree of ownership and the ability to operate autonomously

You're excited to work in-person, talk to customers, and build products that professionals rely on every day.
Why you should join
Growth: Work with founders and customers in person to define and build new features. You'll gain exposure to AI, serverless architecture, and the business of law while owning highโ€‘impact projects.
Impact: A lot of AI tools have trouble showing real impact. We're some of the stickiest tools in a law firm-and we deliver hard ROI to our customers. We're also a multi-product company, meaning that you would be expected to drive technical and product decisions.
Support: We're committed to building a supportive culture. Our rapidly growing and collaborative team values openness, high feedback, and continuous learning.
What you'll do
  • Develop novel AI products, providing customers with entirely new workflows.
  • Work directly with customers (you'll be visiting their offices with us) to understand needs, prioritize requests, and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Prototype and integrate AI pipelines (e.g., retrievalโ€‘augmented generation) to prove out new workflows.
  • Lead by example through mentoring future hires, pairing, and code reviews. You'll shape our engineering culture.
Our tech
We have a fully serverless backend built on top of AWS, consisting of a collection of Go microservices. We use React/Typescript to build client applications across web, desktop, and mobile. We create our own RAG pipelines.
The compensation for this position is determined by multiple factors, including prior experience and expertise. A competitive equity component will also be offered as part of the package. Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as meals in office, regular team events, and more!
