Job description

The Project Engineer Intern will work closely with the Software Operations team and Quality Assurance team to provide oversight, troubleshooting and testing of our software at customer sites and in-house.
Job Functions:
  • Be an integral participant in the software installation, testing, debugging, and eventual turnover of the system to the customer.
  • Work with Software Developers. The Project Engineer will regularly communicate with Software Developers to improve our product and solve issues. They must grasp major principles of TAL's development platform and architecture in order to effectively work with the Software Developers.
  • System Quality Assurance. Project Engineering interns share in the QA process to ensure they have a comprehensive knowledge of the inter-workings of each software module. This is necessary for expedient on-site troubleshooting and remote customer support.
  • While TAL's customer support group is tasked with this responsibility, the Project Engineer will often be relied upon to help support the customer's system and improve its operational effectiveness. This includes both remote and on-site customer support as required.

Travel Requirements:
  • 50% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • In pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering or other related discipline.
  • Must have taken a class or have internship experience with programming languages/MS SQL
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with PCs, networks, and software applications
  • Passion for technology and learning new things
  • Ability to clearly communicate with project teams and customers verbally and in writing.
  • Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.
