Responsibilities
We are seeking a Software Engineer for the Experience team working on the NAVI AI Assistant tool. Navi is a State Farm developed digital assistant that will elevate the customer experience though the rapid and intuitive connection of Agents to knowledge resources and operational support they need.In this role, you will drive outcome delivery of integrated, omni-channel contact flows that connect employees and Agents to Support Center, Agency Sales Resources, Human Resources, and many others. This role also presents opportunities to contribute to Navi - a key digital entry point for Agents and their teams powered by generative AI.
Qualifications
  • Develops, tests, debugs, documents, maintains, supports applications/components and primarily completes assignments with guidance and direction
  • Collaborates with business subject matter resources to design and build a solution that meets business requirements
  • Is learning software engineering topics, including classes, functions, containers, version control, DevSecGitOps, and unit tests
  • Develops an understanding in programming and is actively developing in a core programming language (e.g. Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
  • Develops an understanding with State Farm compute environments, including but not limited to AWS, CaaS, .NET, Azure, etc.
  • Develops an understanding with State Farm security, standards and governance
  • Handles and resolves basic application and environment problems and issues
  • Develop an understanding of the State Farm organizational structure
  • Develops understanding of Agile techniques, activities and DevOps methods
  • Develops fundamental understanding of insurance and financial services operations and uses this knowledge in decision making

Qualifications:
  • Experience with AWS, ROSA desired, but not required. CSS, Javascript,
  • Demonstrates strong consulting and problem-solving skills
  • Drives initiatives with a strong focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Champions the use of Generative AI (e.g., Co-Pilot) in daily development workflows (coding, documentation, testing, and ideation).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and business areas.
  • Embraces change, adjusts easily to new challenges, and maintains a focus on excellence in outcome delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and/or lead offshore resources is a plus.

  • Potential starting salary range: $84,500 - $115,000
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
