Job description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a contract position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this role, you will leverage deep expertise in DevSecOps and avionics software development to lead the adoption of a common development environment across organizational teams. This is a 6+ month engagement offering the opportunity to drive digital technology transformation and mentor teams through a significant platform transition.

Responsibilities
  • Create and deploy adoption strategies to help teams efficiently adopt the common development environment.
  • Integrate with adopting teams to provide first-class adoption support.
  • Create and manage adoption roadmaps and plans.
  • Execute adoption plans and roadmaps.
  • Set up and own sandbox environments for technology incubation and development.
  • Work across teams and departments to enable rapid onboarding of certified DevOps technology.
  • Mentor, train, and onboard teammates.
  • Serve as a self-starter, capable of multitasking and managing unplanned events.
  • Use organizational skills to track project and adoption progress.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering peers, leadership, and customers to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Apply problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills to support team mission.
Qualifications
  • Required
    • 4-year STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
    • Minimum 4–5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
    • Practical experience in all aspects and phases of the software engineering product lifecycle, including DO-178.
    • Practical experience with industry-known software development patterns.
    • Practical experience with avionics software development.
    • Experience with DevSecOps.
    • Experience with GitLab.
    • Experience with Git.
    • Experience with CMake.
    • Experience with MinGW.
    • Experience with LynxOS.
    • Experience with Coverity.
    • Experience with Artifactory.
    • Experience with Docker.
    • Experience with Vista.
    • Experience and/or knowledge of Python scripting language.
