Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - Dubuque Function: Product Engineering (CA) Title: Embedded Software Engineer - 121084 Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As an Embedded SIL Environment Test Infrastructure Engineer located in Dubuque, IA, you will improve, maintain, and support the Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) embedded development and test environment used by Construction & Forestry product teams. Additionally, you will:

  • Contribute to the embedded SIL environment for Construction & Forestry teams, ensuring reliability, repeatability, and ease of use for developers and test engineers
  • Develop and maintain embedded build and integration workflows (e.g., Emb32) to support fast iteration and consistent SIL execution
  • Develop and maintain plant models and model interfaces used in SIL, improving fidelity, performance, and configuration management
  • Create and enhance SIL tooling and utilities (including C# applications/services) for scenario setup, execution, logging, and results triage
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SIL environment issues across software, models, and configuration (e.g., build breaks, runtime faults, version mismatches, performance regressions)
  • Partner with embedded software teams, PV&V, and systems/controls engineers to define SIL requirements and prioritize environment and model improvements
  • Maintain documentation, onboarding material, and reference examples so teams can adopt SIL efficiently and consistently
  • Implement quality practices for the SIL environment (source control hygiene, automated checks, CI integration, versioning, and release notes)
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders and suppliers as needed to integrate embedded software and models into the SIL environment
  • Support users of the SIL environment by answering questions, unblocking development, and guiding best practices for efficient debugging and verification
  • Integrate embedded applications, controls, and communication interfaces into SIL to enable functional and regression testing without hardware dependency
  • Maintain and improve the SIL runtime stack, configuration packages, and dependencies (installers, environment setup, and version compatibility)
