If you’re looking for a place to match your passion with purpose—and where every day you can make an impact—you’ll find it here.

We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our team. This is a hybrid opportunity out of our Waltham, MA office.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Software Engineer II who thrives in a fast-moving environment, quickly ramps up on new product domains and workflows, and uses AI-assisted development tools responsibly to deliver high-quality software. If you enjoy working across the entire stack, solving complex problems, learning new technologies, and seeing your work make it into customers\' hands, we\'d love to meet you.

In this role, you\'ll build modern cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, and React. You\'ll collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow engineers to deliver features from idea to production.

We believe great software comes from engineers who are curious, collaborative, and always looking for better ways to build. You\'ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, influence technical decisions, and continuously grow your skills while working alongside a talented engineering team.

We\'re also embracing AI as an essential part of modern software engineering. From brainstorming solutions and writing code to testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews, we encourage engineers to use AI thoughtfully to work smarter and deliver higher-quality software. Great engineers don\'t just use AI - they know when to trust it, when to question it, and how to turn it into better products

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build and ship features across the entire application stack - from backend services and APIs to polished React user interfaces.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable cloud-native applications with built-in observability, monitoring, and diagnostics.
  • Develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Kubernetes.
  • Build modern, responsive user experiences using React and contemporary frontend development practices.
  • Own features from design through production, collaborating with teammates every step of the way.
  • Bring your ideas to the table. Whether it\'s improving an API, simplifying an architecture, or introducing a new technology, your voice matters.
  • Participate in code reviews that focus on learning, collaboration, and raising the quality bar—not just finding mistakes.
  • Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and help build solutions that last.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and cross-functional teams to turn customer needs into elegant technical solutions.
  • Continuously improve our build, test, and deployment pipelines by diagnosing build failures, strengthening test reliability, and addressing CI/CD and environment issues.
  • Leverage AI throughout the software development lifecycle—from design and implementation to testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews—to improve productivity while applying sound engineering judgment to every solution.
  • Stay curious. Technology moves quickly, and we encourage experimenting with new ideas, frameworks, and tools that help us build better software.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience building modern web applications using React.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Experience building or deploying applications in AWS or another cloud platform.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized applications.
  • Experience working with distributed systems or event-driven architectures (Kafka is a plus).
  • Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.
  • Proven ability to quickly ramp up on new products, technical domains, and business context while adapting to evolving engineering practices and operating models.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with microservices architectures.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, or production support.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.
  • Contributions to open-source projects, technical blogs, hackathons, or personal software projects.

This position offers a total compensation range of $133,000.00 - $146,000.00 (inclusive of base salary and variable compensation, such as bonuses and incentives).
