5 South West Allis Medical: Stroke/ACE Med/Surg

West Allis Medical Center, Wi. USA

Where you will work:

  • Inpatient Beds: 34
  • Patient population: Neuro focus, Stroke, Seizures, Diabetes, Electrolyte Imbalance, Kidney Disease, Mental Health, Dementia, Alzheimer's
  • Culture: Collaborative, supportive, teaching
  • Skill Mix: equal mix of new graduates and experienced team staff
  • Typical RN to Patient Ratio: Days: 1:4-5, Nights: 1:5-6

What we are looking for:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • New RN's and Experienced RN's WELCOME!

What you will do:

  • Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and Preceptor directed orientation.
  • Build skills in time management, triaging accountabilities, communication skills, pharmacology, lab interpretation, pathophysiology of disease process through a variety of med/surg patients with acute and chronic conditions.
  • Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with a resourceful multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide continuity of patient care through 12-hour shifts, patient centered care and team minded support.
  • Be a valued member of a highly skilled, resilient, and versatile nursing team committed to ensuring the delivery of quality and compassionate healthcare to diverse patient populations.

Schedule:

  • Self-scheduling: 6-week schedules
  • 12-hour shifts: 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
  • Every third weekend and 50% holiday rotation
