These programs help new nurses bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice by offering mentorship, hands-on clinical experience, and additional education. They typically last from several months up to a year and aim to build confidence, improve clinical skills, and support new nurses as they adapt to the demands of working in a healthcare environment.

To excel in a New Grad Residency Program, candidates need a recent degree in their field, foundational knowledge, and eligibility for any required licensure. Familiarity with clinical documentation systems, hospital protocols, and relevant technical tools is often expected.
