Job Description Summary
Demonstrate thought leadership and be an Ambassador to Data Driven Finance /Fuel initiatives and an enabler for data-driven decision making. Analyze Finance/Fuel performance at the department, cluster, vendor, items and location level, including analyzing store, regional and business performance and metrics. Support Finance/Fuel Leadership Team in documenting BU level strategic decisions. Leverage available tools and reporting to provide timely insights on Finance / Fuel performance in a way that facilitates data-driven decision making. Organize, summarize, and visualize data into meaningful insights that communicate complex findings to non-analytical peers. Mechanize driving insights into actions by working with cross-functional partners to identify gaps and make recommendations to improve existing Finance/Fuel tools and processes. Use technical expertise to conceptualize and develop new, reusable tools, models, and approaches to provide out partners with insights and recommendations to meet business goals. Actively support Finance Manager on the annual Budget Planning Process. Join our Global Analytical network on data and analytics issues and share experiences with other Business Units. All other duties as assigned to achieve operation excellence in the business unit. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks; or participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing determined Financial and Key results area targets pursuant to company plan guidelines. Analyze, research, correct fuel variances, partnering with Operations and Fuel Accounting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent, in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related subject area followed by 2+ years of work experience on data analysis. Computer skills in include navigational ability in a networked environment and proficiency in Microsoft Word and email applications. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access and other data visualization platforms (Powe BI, Tableau). Experience in SQL/Enterprise Management Software (Longview) is a plus. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to manage multiple activities and prioritize projects and tasks. Demonstration of outstanding analytic skills, logical reasoning, data interpretation and the ability to resolve complex issues. Experience working with individuals from Different organizational functions and at different levels. Retail experience is an asset.
