Job description

Overview

Legacy Medical Group Neurology is recruiting outpatient (clinic-based) Neurologists to join our team. A background in movement disorders or neuromuscular medicine is highly desired, but Legacy will consider other subspecialties for exceptional candidates.

Legacy Neurology has 4 practice locations in the Portland-Vancouver metro area (clinics are all either in Portland or within 20 minutes of downtown). The clinic-based Neurologist will provide outpatient consultation and management of patients with neurological disorders at one or more of our locations.

The new physician will join our team of 10 outpatientย neurologists, 4 clinic APPs, and 8 neurohospitalists.ย We have subspecialty programs in autoimmune neurology/MS, epilepsy, headache, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, neuro-ophthalmology, and vascular neurology.

Some general neurology practice is required of all our physicians, but there is an opportunity to developย a subspecialty practice asย desired. Some inpatient general neurology is coverage required, although Neurohospitalists manage all acute stroke assessment. There are also opportunities to join our clinical trials program supported by the Legacy Research Institute or participate in teaching of medical students or internal medicine residents for those interested in such.ย ย

Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical and administrative services in the Neurology Program.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical School or the equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited residency in Neurology.
Licensure
  • Board Certified in Neurology.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state.
  • Active member in good standing of Hospital Medical Staff.
  • BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Assocation minimally required (ACLS may substitute for BLS).
