Exciting Faculty Opportunity for a Neuro-Ophthalmologist
Our organization is pleased to announce a full-time faculty position for a Board Certified Neuro-Ophthalmologist on the Clinical Educator Track (CET) in Maywood, Illinois. This role is a collaboration between a prominent medical center, a renowned medical school, and a respected VA hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in clinical and/or basic science research with a demonstrated commitment.
- Provide exceptional clinical care and contribute to the academic training of residents and medical students.
- Participate in the development and management of the residency training program.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team within the Department of Ophthalmology.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Neuro-Ophthalmology.
- Completion of Fellowship training.
- Eligibility for medical licensing in Illinois.
- A proven track record of outstanding clinical care and academic involvement.
Working Environment
The Department of Ophthalmology consists of 23 full-time and 20 part-time clinicians, collectively managing over 65,000 patient visits annually across multiple locations, including the main facility and satellite offices. The department is supported by five dedicated research scientists and a robust residency program, which includes four residents each year, overseen by a committed team.
Additionally, the department will be part of a planned Neuroscience Institute, collaborating with other specialties such as Neurology, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, and Psychiatry. The main research facility, the Center for Translational Research and Education (CTRE), spans 225,000 square feet and was inaugurated in 2015, housing the clinical research office and research administration.

- Competitive starting salary ranging from $159,000 to $985,945, based on academic rank and experience.
