Job description

TRAVEL: 10% domestic travel required
HOURS: Full Time/40 hours
JOB DUTIES: Design, implement, and manage local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN). Configure and maintain network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and resolve basic network problems. Assist in the implementation of network security measures. Perform network architecture design, plan and maintenance tasks on network hardware, and support network infrastructure components. Install, support, and maintain hardware and software infrastructure including Cisco routers and switches, Meraki Wi-Fi controllers, firewalls, and structured cabling according to best practices and regulatory requirements. Implement the necessary controls to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction. Part of third-level helpdesk escalation providing support to helpdesk staff when engineering support is needed related to the Network.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or related field of study and 3 years of experience with network engineering and operational management. Employer will accept a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or related field of study and 1 year of experience with network engineering and operational management, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3 years of experience.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience with:
1) 3 years of experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
2) Hands on experience with VLANs, STP, Trunking, and WIFI.
3) Applying routing protocols OSPF and EIGRP.
4) Network security principles.
5) Working with network management and monitoring tools.
6) Working with operating systems, and virtualization.
7) Documenting technical procedures, system configurations, and project plans.
Any and all experience may be gained concurrently. For skill #1, employer will accept 1 year of experience when qualifying with a Master's degree.
