Our direct client has an opening for a Sr Cloud Network/Security Engineer position # 759936. This position is for 12+ months, with option of extension, and will be worked remote. Candidate must work EST business hours.

Description:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues related to networking and security.
  • Building highly scalable and highly available solutions deployed on public clouds (such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP), and/or hybrid environments.
  • Assistance in working with other DIT teams, which includes the network and security teams, for cloud on-boarding and migrations.
  • Assist the operational team as needed and requested.
  • Perform root cause analysis and post implementation reviews.
  • Assist the cloud team to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.                                   
  • Schedules and coordinates the installation and configuration of cloud network infrastructure solutions with customers and other internal DIT teams.
  • Maintain and keep track of all technical duties that are related to cloud networking such as design, planning, management, maintenance, and support.
  • Manage, monitor, troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues: utilization/throughput, slowness, and unexpected latency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Competencies:
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto VM Series firewall and Panorama configuration and optimization.
  • Experience with VPN technologies to include IPsec and SSL technologies.
  • Ability to work on large TCP/IP networks, design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with name services and resolution, associated IP assignments.
  • Experience with routers, routing protocols, transit gateways, load balancing, and overall cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, routes, security groups, endpoints, CIDR assignments.
  • Experience with security best practices and implementing security controls in a AWS cloud environment.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud networking infrastructure issues.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate cloud standards and security best practices to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated with strong team-oriented and collaborative attitude.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud infrastructure components such as compute, storage, network management, and monitoring (network and security).
  • Knowledge of WAF as a Service (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of core network services (including DNS, DHCP, and IPAM technologies)
  • Knowledge of IAM technologies (Azure AD, AD AWS SSO).
  • Ability to document detailed designs.

Required/Desired Skills:
