Job Summary:
Sentar Inc. is an employee-owned company dedicated to creating solutions for cybersecurity, intelligence, analytics, and systems engineering. They are seeking a Jr. Network Engineer to provide technical engineering support for a federal government agency's complex network infrastructure, including deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting network systems.
Responsibilities:
• Gather user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies to provide necessary technical documentation, system requirement documents, systems security requirements documents, and system test plans.
• Travel to various customer locations to install networking equipment
• Assist Senior Engineers with deploying network infrastructure.
• Install, maintain and evaluate network systems and communications systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues involving various protocols, topologies, networking hardware, etc.
• Utilize knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to enhance understanding of current network designs and to collaborate with other team members
• Work independently and collectively to help improve network solutions and contribute to network service improvements.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Top-Secret Clearance Required; must be SCI-eligible. A Counter-Intelligence Polygraph is required post-start.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification
• Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing network solutions.
• Experience racking, stacking, and cabling network devices.
• Experience interfacing directly with customers and addressing customer needs.
• Experience with basic configuration of switches and routers.
• Experience configuring from the CLI.
• Experience with IT Ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow, etc.).
• Experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting support.
• Experience working in both classified and unclassified network environments.
