Job description

Tech Talent International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100/500/1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US and Europe.

We currently have a role as a Network Engineer with our large consulting client, working onsite at a major financial services client in the downtown Montreal area.

Role: Cybersecurity - Network Engineer

Type: Permanent or Contract 40 hrs/week

Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home)

Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 + 9% bonus + 3-5 weeks paid vacation + RRSP contribution + benefits + sick/personal days

Special Circumstances: Every 16 weeks, the candidate will have to work a 1 day shift from 6 PM to 6 AM as part of rotational on-call support

Job Description:

The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design,  implementation,supportand management of clients networks across datacenter, campus and WAN environments. The candidates should have a well-rounded background in all Network technologies, have a strong understanding of network functions and fundamentals and have experience in complex multi-vendor network infrastructures.

The Network Engineer must possessa n understanding of complex combinations of infrastructure technologies and operating systems and be able to design and implementand support network solutions.

For specific L3 roles, engineers must have high level understanding and experience with financial markets and technologies including multicast and low-latency platforms and designs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Perform 2nd, 3rd level support for the corporate Wifi,LAN, MAN and WAN Infrastructure

Work with production project management, architecture and application support groups to gather network requirements to design and deploy network infrastructures in support of application, business and infra teams.

Work withI TP Infrastructure engineering andsupport teams for troubleshooting complex,cross platform issues.

Follow ITP guidelines for using Service Management and NMS platforms for monitoring, alerting and incident tracking.

Follow ITP guidelines for asset and configuration management standards.

Follow ITP Governance to ensure standard practices are followed within the team, including security, and other corporate IT policiesand procedures.

Closely link with his or her counterparts to ensure definition and strict adherence to technology standardsdefined locally and globally

Design and implement new or improve existing networks basedon project guidelines

Proactively review environment andrecommend projects based on capacity monitoring, resiliency levels, prior expertise, hardware knowledge and risk assessment.

Participate in On-Call rotation schedule for after-hours escalation through life of project

Exercise proficiency with ITP Policies and Procedures

Required Skillsets and experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology,or relevant/equivalentIT/Networkingexperience.

Experience and understanding of multiple operating systems, NMS and automation tools andplatforms including but not limited to Zabbix, Service Now, HP Network Automation, Windows, LINUX, Ansible, PYTHON

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Graphs, VLOOKUP, Pivot tables).

Thorough understanding of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF,IS-IS, MPLS,VXLAN,DHCP and DNS

Detailed understanding ofIP Multicast, PIM, IGMPand MSDP

Working experience with optical systems specifically ADVA supporting 10G, 40G, 100G and FC

Detailed knowledge of Cisco products including the Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms, Cisco ISR and ASR routing platforms and Juniper EX switches
