Job Description

Reporting to our Senior Manager, Global Network and Communications, we are currently looking for a Global Network Engineer to lead the design, testing, and initial deployment of network, security, voice, and cloud networking infrastructure at all global IKO locations. The role focuses on Level 3 support, developing proofs of concept (POCs), implementing new technologies, and creating comprehensive documentation to support the Network Operations team. The incumbent will apply advanced technical expertise, problem-solving, and communication skills to align solutions with IKO's business requirements and global IT standards. This opportunity is a full-time permanent opportunity based fully onsite at our Mississauga, ON office location.

Compensation: $96k-$129k

Job Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing network, security, voice, and cloud networking infrastructure (e.g., Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, VPN gateways) to meet business requirements and align with defined Global IT standards.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting network, security, voice, and Aruba Wireless and Aruba Central issues using standard tools and processes.
  • Communicating with vendors for service changes, hardware/software orders, and coordinating related activities.
  • Maintaining published documentation for technical procedures, policies, and standard processes related to network, cloud networking, and Aruba Wireless and Aruba Central infrastructure.
  • Implementing and monitoring security solutions, standards, and policies in accordance with IKO's Information Security Framework.
  • Assisting in investigations of possible security breaches as part of the incident management team.
  • Supporting network/security/voice/cloud networking/Aruba Wireless and Aruba Central group representation in audits.
  • Supporting the development of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for network and cloud networking infrastructure.
  • Travel estimated at 10%, within North America and Europe (incumbent should be ready to travel).
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Global Network and Communications.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years' experience designing and managing large enterprise networks, datacenter systems, and systems architecture.
  • 3-5 years' experience with Azure Cloud in a hybrid setup, including designing cloud networking solutions.
  • Expert in switching and routing, particularly BGP/OSPF, with hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Ability to assess datacenter and cloud networking trends to develop and implement hardware and software standards.
  • Collaborative team player who can lead technical discussions in departmental meetings and influence outcomes.
  • Upholds 'best practice' standards and drives innovation in network and cloud networking solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of French or the ability to develop French is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Valid G driving license
