As a Service Support Manager, you will have two direct reports; the Parts Manager and the Administrative Assistant. The Service Support Manager will work hand in hand with the Service Manager (who manages the shop and yard foreman) but will report directly to the PCM and have the authority to make purchasing decisions and other business based decisions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains fleet files and DOT compliance for both Rental and Non-Rental Fleet Schedules PM and DOT inspections on both Rental and Non-Rental Fleet (like trucks) Performs Safety Coordinator responsibilities in regards to DOT Fleet Manages the Parts Manager, approving parts purchasing and ordering, etc. Conducts DOS with drivers on a monthly basis Manages the warranty recovery process Conducts reviews of closed work orders to ensure warranty opportunity has not been missed Catalogs warranty parts for validation on manufacturer’s request Maintains compliance with manufacturers issued services bulletins Manages the customer damage process to include: Preparing damage letters to send to customers and sending them Maintains photographic and physical evidence relating to customer damage Directs the supply of parts to shop mechanics, other branches and customers Screens and prioritizes service calls to meet customer needs Works hand in hand with equipment vendors to learn maintenance requirements and capabilities of new equipment added to inventory Trains shop foreman on new equipment Collaborates with Service Manager and Shop Foreman to schedule factory training and technical diagnosis on equipment QUALIFICATIONS: Valid driver’s license Extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of AWP equipment Knowledge of work planning and scheduling and other supervisory activities Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements. Clear perspective of maintenance and repair issues in the industry Planning and management experience Computer literacy Reporting and warranty management experience Inventory and parts management experience The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
