Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree from accredited college or technical school
  • Able to use all related computer hardware and software
  • Able to use job-related hand held tools
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 100+ pounds of equipment
  • Must have good communications skills

Travel Requirement

This position supports the Cincinnati, OH territory and requires regular travel including overnight stays, to client locations to install Edward Jones branch offices. You will drive a company-provided vehicle to complete on-site service calls throughout the local territory.

Although the role is tied to the firm's headquarters in Maryland Heights, MO, you will not be required to travel there, except for one week of technical training shortly after your start date.

This position is listed as Hybrid, but day-to-day work is primarily in the field within your designated territory (Cincinnati, OH).

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Regular travel, including overnight stays, to client locations to install Edward Jones branch offices

  • Responsibilities include set-up of computers, printers, cabling, telephony systems, and other equipment

  • Lead and manage on-site installation activities, coordinating Field Service Technicians and overseeing contractors as needed

  • Accurately track work time, update task status in the online system, and document ticket resolutions

  • Follow escalation procedures to ensure timely resolution of issues

  • Comply with Asset Management protocols by documenting equipment movements, properly packaging/shipping returns, and maintaining shipping logs

  • Provide technical support with minimal disruption to client operations

  • Train clients on the use of new hardware and technologies

  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and vehicle stock to ensure readiness for client visits

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade telephony, computing, network, print, and AV hardware as business needs evolve

  • Install, maintain, and repair structured cabling in commercial settings, including cable management at end-user and network locations

  • Coordinate ETAs that align with client needs for maintenance, project, and IMAC activities.

  • Monitor and manage ticket queues, assuming ownership of tickets as needed

  • Legally operate and maintain a company vehicle in compliance with company policies, including scheduling regular maintenance

  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times

  • Perform related project work as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel regularly to client locations, including air travel and long-distance driving

  • Skilled in troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading a wide range of electronic voice, data, and AV hardware, including cabling and terminations

  • Ability to work independently to complete maintenance, projects, and IMAC calls efficiently

  • Provide coverage for other service areas when required.

  • Maintain high speed internet access

  • Maintain residence in assigned territory

  • Carry a company issued cell phone and respond when called upon

  • 3 or more years of IT and/or field service experience OR one year as a Field Service Technician with CBIZ Network Solutions
