Job description

The Team 

The Network Infrastructure and Operations team provides a full range of network, infrastructure and application support to both corporate and operations drilling customers located worldwide. Our efforts ensure highly available network infrastructure and communications, allowing our customers to operate efficiently, effectively and securely.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing and maintaining day to day operations of our corporate and customer facing network infrastructure. This includes ensuring the continued operation, stability and integrity of Pason’s voice, data, video and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing and developing local area networks (LAN) and corporate wide area networks (WAN) solutions. In addition, you will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links in all Pason offices and datacenters. You will also work with internal project teams, users, and external customers to co-develop network solutions for commercial communications products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Key contributor to a team responsible for deployment, management and maintenance of the corporate and customer facing networks
  • Ensuring integrity of all communication networks
  • Install, configure and maintain network hardware, systems, and software
  • Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning
  • Design and implementation of network fault-tolerance, diversity and disaster recovery initiatives
  • Strong analytical ability and professional office experience
  • Strong vendor (particularly with national telecoms) management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, self-motivate, take ownership of an area of operations, identify issues, and work independently
  • Act as a network trusted expert (SME)
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to advise, collaborate, and deploy next-gen future network and operations products.
  • Capable of liaising and coordinating with national carriers to manage and operate our communications services to our customers.
  • Lead product proof of concepts with our product management team
  • Document problems, procedures and activities associated with communications hardware, providing proven resolutions
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for corporate & customer network Tier 3 outages

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge working with the following systems: All Fortinet suite of products, Cisco Network and Voice systems, Windows and Linux
  • Advanced knowledge in network design and implementation using Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Load balancers and Wireless LAN Controllers.
  • Deep understanding with networking protocols such as LAN, WAN, VLAN, TCP/IP, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, DMVPN, VRF, NHRP, PPP, MPLS, TSL & SSL and IPV4 & IPV6, NAT, QoS and Spanning-tree
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP protocol suite and protocols such as HTTP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP.
  • Implementation experience with security protocols and devices such as stateful firewall, IPS, IPSec, SSL/TLS as well as L2 security (DHCP snooping, ARP inspection).
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches
  • Experience with Fortinet solutions
  • Experience with VoIP technologies (design and diagnosing Cisco based VoIP solutions).
  • Experience with networking implementation in the AWS and Azure environment
  • Knowledge with MPLS VPN technologies
  • Experience with Linux OS
  • A proven ability to work with teams in a constructive, cooperative and respectful manner
  • Confident, independent and self-motivated, with very good problem-solving skills
  • Must have the ability to communicate (with internal and external customers) via phone, email, and in person
  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills

Qualifications

Experience 

  • 8+ years of related job experience as a Senior Network Analyst with preference to individuals with ISP or telecom experience.
  • Certifications in CCNP or CCIE preferred

Education

  • Bachelor’s in engineering Computer Science or IT or equivalent experience
