Job description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director to lead the Application Network Services product area. ANS provides both emerging and foundational application security functions, as well as end to end delivery of a suite of network and security services. Role will lead the teams which provide load balancing services and protect internet-facing web applications against vulnerabilities, application layer distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, and bot detection through our cloud-based security solution, Virtual Front Door (VFD). These teams also provide centralized coordination of applications network services, including firewall, load balancing, VFD, and DNS.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
  • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
  • Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
  • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
  • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • In depth knowledge with Network and Security services such as load balancers, firewalls, application layer DDoS protection, DNS
  • Experience in financial services
  • Experience managing in a complex, matrixed environment and comfortable leading and executing through influence.
  • A can-do attitude and an agent to drive velocity and change.
  • Highly effective and proven consultative leader with strong business and data-driven acumen, to drive continuous improvement in a data-driven way.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
