Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE: The Network Administrator plays a vital role in keeping the IT infrastructure secure, efficient, and connected. This position is responsible for administrating network maintenance, network security, devices, software, and hardware related to the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN). The Network Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

From safeguarding systems with top-tier security measures to overseeing network upgrades and empowering users through training, this role goes far beyond IT support it serves as a central link in maintaining operational continuity. Success in this position requires deep technical knowledge across a wide range of hardware, software, and systems to support organizational growth and future initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Network Setup & Maintenance Install, configure, and manage network hardware (routers, switches, access points, firewalls) Maintain LANs, WANs, VPNs, and other network segments Monitor network performance and ensure optimal uptime Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity operations Security & Access Control Implement and manage firewalls, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection systems Control user access, authentication, and permissions Conduct regular security audits and apply patches Participate in cybersecurity projects and initiatives Troubleshooting & Support Diagnose and resolve network and helpdesk issues Provide technical support to users and IT teams Maintain documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and incidents Performance Optimization Analyze traffic and usage patterns to improve efficiency Upgrade systems and recommend improvements Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate records of network infrastructure and changes Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards Assist in planning for network expansion and scalability OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB INFORMATION: The Information Technology Department operates as a service-driven team dedicated to supporting IT infrastructure and users across multiple business operations. Team members must demonstrate both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally.

A proactive, hands-on approach is essential, along with the ability to collaborate with others to meet user needs. This position may require after-hours support for critical production issues, shipment-impacting incidents, system upgrades, and scheduled maintenance activities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Two or more years of experience in a Network Administrator role Proven skills in network operations and performance analysis Strong communication skills for training and assisting users PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Fortinet Certified Associate or higher Four-year degree in Information Technology Arista ACE Level 2 or higher ArubaOS experience
