Recruiting Specialist I (Talent Acquisition)


Job Summary

The Recruiting Specialist will perform effective full life-cycle recruitment, panel interview facilitation, and represent EPB Human Resources at community and college events.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and process employment applications such as sourcing and screening, conducting phone and in-person interviews, organizing applicant testing, coordinating out-of-town candidate on-site visits, and scheduling and facilitating panel interviews.
  • Proficiently cold call, network, recruit, and close candidates.
  • Ensure the highest quality candidates with the skills, education, and experience necessary to meet business needs.
  • Proactively source and identify candidates for pipelines and introduce them to hiring managers.
  • Consult and educate managers and selection teams on recruiting and selection-related topics and issues.
  • Assist in developing strategies for attracting diverse talent for all assigned requisitions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and represent EPB at college career fairs, recruitment events, and community events; Evaluate, select, and develop relationships with various colleges and universities.
  • Assist with pre- and post-employment new hire paperwork and processing; Prepare offer letters; facilitate background and drug screenings. Assist with relocation, coordinate new hire first day, and support new hire paperwork processing.
  • Perform badge preparation for new hires, vendors, contractors, and temporary employees, and replacement badges for current employees.
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system and ensure compliance.
  • Generate statistical monthly activity reports, as needed.
  • Partner with Director, Talent Acquisition, to develop alternative recruiting strategies as needed.


Education and Experience
  • Associates degree required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years related professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge in full life-cycle recruitment such as sourcing, networking, and relationship management.
  • Staffing agency experience is a plus.


Certifications and Other Requirements
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.
  • Solid negotiation, persuasion, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands while being adaptable and flexible.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to perform effective networking by building rapport with others.
  • Human relations and effective communication skills; highly organized.
