  • Manage and support local data centre environments, including occasional travel within the Calgary area as required to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve infrastructure and network services.

  • Coordinate vendors and third-party technical support, managing issues through to resolution.

  • Maintain architecture, configuration, operating procedures, and recovery documentation, and contribute to technical standards and recommendations that support reliable operations, effective knowledge transfer, and Vermilion's global technology environment.

  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Client Support, field operations, and global teams to coordinate effective delivery of technology services.

  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, mentoring, and cross-training to strengthen capability across IT teams.

What you will bring

  • A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience supporting complex enterprise technology environments in the energy sector is required, with direct experience in upstream and/or midstream operations.

  • Current professional certification in Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Fortinet, or another recognized enterprise networking or network security technology is required.

  • Significant hands-on experience supporting complex enterprise network environments, including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and solution delivery.

  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise administering and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewall technologies in complex enterprise environments, along with experience supporting Fortinet and Cisco technologies.

  • Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud networking.

  • Experience planning and delivering network upgrades, infrastructure implementations, and other project-based technical work.

  • Experience managing vendors and coordinating third-party technical support.

  • Strong communication, documentation, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage concurrent operational and project demands.

  • A collaborative and service-oriented approach, with the ability to support field locations, work across technical and business teams, share knowledge, and operate effectively across global time zones.
