We are looking for a Senior Engineer, High Density and Network Project Engineering to help shape and support the electrical infrastructure that powers our communities. In this role, you'll provide technical leadership on a variety of high-density and secondary network projects, guiding work from early planning through design, construction, and project closeout. You'll collaborate with engineers, project teams, and operations partners to solve complex challenges, support safe and reliable outcomes, and help deliver practical solutions for our customers. This is an opportunity to apply your expertise, mentor others, and make a meaningful impact while working on projects that are essential to ENMAX's future.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and process leadership, guidance, and support to Project Engineers and Technologists.

  • Provide team leadership coverage for the Project Team Lead when required.

  • Review and authenticate work performed by Engineers and Technologists, ensuring all applicable engineering, industry and Enmax standards, codes, regulations and best practices are applied to designs.

  • Identify, explore and propose solutions and improvements to technical practices, components, and processes for team lead and manager review.

  • Work with internal and external customers and technical experts to determine the complete project scope for complex projects, including identifying all required technical deliverables, interdependencies, and any risks that are technical in nature.

  • Work with the Office of the Chief Engineer and Standards team to develop new standards, determine best practices and remain current with APEGA requirements; ensuring the team adheres to the professional practice management plan

  • Oversee the scope and ensure the quality of engineering deliverables provided by internal and external engineering consultants to meet the needs of the project.

  • Ensure all applicable engineering, industry and ENMAX Corporation standards, codes, regulations and public safety are applied in designs and during review.

  • Support, mentor and develop the Design only designer and Project Engineer teams with technical and customer service capabilities.

  • Provide guidance to consultants, EPC engineering and EPC field Execution Planning to ensure deliverables are met on behalf of all stakeholders.

  • Provide guidance to stakeholders reviewing construction Requests for Information and consult with required parties and provide responses in the form of Field Instructions, or via direct construction support on site.

  • Act as the main point of contact for external design consultants, ensuring their questions and concerns are adequately addressed in addition to providing regular updates to Enmax process and standards.

  • Support other business lines across Enmax Power.

  • Ensure the safety of our staff, contractors, and the public is held as paramount in everything we do.

Education Required:

  • B.Sc. or B.Eng. Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • P.Eng status, in good standing, with The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Electrical engineering design or project engineering

  • 5+ years of directly applicable technical experience with low voltage secondary network systems.

  • Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Maximo experience is considered an asset.

  • Strong skills in PLS-CADD and overhead lines design is considered an asset for distribution roles.
