Network Project Coordinator Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Position Summary

The Onsite Network Project Coordinator will support the day-to-day execution, auditing, and documentation of wired and wireless network installation on a large active construction job site. This role is detail-heavy and field-focused, helping confirm that switch ports, device naming, IP information, network room assignments, power coordination, and as-built records stay accurate as the project moves forward.

Core Role Requirements

The day-to-day responsibilities require a strong operational backbone. The right person will be comfortable checking details, coordinating across teams, and keeping the installation clean, consistent, and ready for operations.

• Daily auditing: Proactively cross-reference port schedules with actual switch states and help manage self-auditing processes.
• Cross-vendor coordination: Act as a central facilitator across vendors, helping ensure naming, IP details, handoff information, and field conditions are consistent before MSPs configure switches.
• Network diversity enforcement: Confirm that field servers from the same control box connect to different network rooms and switches where required, including diamond study coverage and related power coordination.
• Documentation ownership: Build, update, and maintain a carefully merged master as-built document that operations can rely on after turnover.
• Project tracking: Help maintain project trackers, look-ahead schedules, action item lists, issue logs, testing windows, milestones, and closeout checklists.
• Meeting and follow-up support: Support coordination meetings by preparing notes, tracking decisions, and following up on open items with vendors and project partners.
• Document control: Collect, organize, and share current drawings, port schedules, device lists, naming standards, IP information, reports, and turnover documents.
• Vendor and team communication: Track vendor deliverables, field updates, material status, access needs, and help keep communication moving between the project manager, MSPs, vendors, field crews, IT teams, and operations.
• Field-change updates: Update documentation after field changes so the project team is working from the most current information.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular field checks of network devices, switch connections, patching, labels, power status, and installation conditions.
• Compare installation progress against port schedules, device lists, drawings, naming standards, and as-built records.
• Identify mismatches, missing information, incorrect labels, assignment conflicts, or potential configuration issues before they impact commissioning.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, MSPs, electricians, low-voltage installers, IT teams, and operations teams to keep information aligned.
• Support wireless access point, server, control box, network room, and switch assignment tracking.
• Maintain organized documentation for field changes, device locations, port usage, IP assignments, network room diversity, power sources, and turnover records.
• Escalate risks, blockers, inconsistencies, and field issues clearly and quickly.
• Follow all job site safety, access, PPE, and housekeeping requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a network technician, low-voltage technician, field technician, IT technician, or similar role on commercial or construction projects.
• Working knowledge of cabling, patch panels, switches, network rooms, wireless access points, device labeling, port schedules, and basic IP information.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to compare field conditions against schedules, drawings, and documentation.
• Comfortable communicating with multiple vendors and field teams in a busy construction environment.
• Organized, dependable, and able to maintain accurate records while work is changing in the field.
• Ability to walk an active job site, access network rooms, attend coordination meetings, and follow all site safety requirements.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting large commercial, healthcare, industrial, campus, data center, aviation, or high-rise job sites.
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build, Smartsheet, Excel, SharePoint, or similar documentation tools.
• Network+, CCNA, BICSI, OSHA 10/30, or similar training or certifications.
• Experience supporting Wi-Fi deployments, switch cutovers, device turn-up, or MSP coordination.

• Port schedules, switch states, device names, IP information, and as-built records stay accurate and aligned.
• Field issues are caught early and communicated clearly.
• Network room and switch diversity requirements are followed.
• Documentation is clean, current, and useful for operations after turnover.
• The project team can trust the technician as a reliable source of field network information.
