Network Engineer

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining complex network, wireless, and network security environments. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with strong leadership abilities and a passion for implementing innovative networking solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in network, wireless, and network security technologies to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Design, build, deploy, and administer complex network, wireless, and network security environments to support organizational needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability, optimizing for future growth and technological advancements.
  • Identify and implement network automation opportunities to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Coordinate and execute network changes in compliance with established change management procedures to minimize disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive as-built documentation and network operations reports, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Collaborate effectively with partners and vendors to deploy new infrastructure and provide operational support.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and resolve support tickets promptly, coordinating with maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Provide on-call support during off-hours, holidays, and weekends on a rotational basis to maintain continuous network availability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Network Manager.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience installing and supporting data network solutions.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network routing, switching, wireless, security, and data center architectures.
  • Proven experience working with Cisco network routers and switches.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead critical network, wireless, and network security projects.
  • Proven experience mentoring and guiding junior network technicians.

Preferred (A Plus to Have):

  • Experience working with advanced networking technologies such as Cisco Wireless, Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, Aruba SD-WAN, and Cradlepoint network solutions.

Education and Certifications:

  • Active CCNA certification or equivalent experience is required.
  • Associate degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Active CCNP or higher certification is highly desirable.
  • Information security certifications or equivalent training are considered a plus.
