Summary of Functions
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the enterprise network infrastructure supporting gaming, hospitality, and business operations. This onsite, in-office role maintains and optimizes network systems across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring consistent system availability, secure connectivity, and uninterrupted business operations.
The position serves as a technical resource, operating independently while contributing to architecture decisions, system design improvements, and technical standards. The role also supports regulatory compliance, operational continuity, and technical capability within the IT team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Network Architecture & Performance Optimization
  • Maintain and optimize enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across all environments.

  • Monitor network systems and proactively identify and resolve performance issues to minimize service disruption and support business continuity.

  • Contribute to network design improvements and capacity planning to support operational growth and evolving business needs.

Infrastructure Deployment & Technology Integration
  • Implement and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud-based networking solutions that enable secure and seamless connectivity across the enterprise.

  • Support and extend hybrid cloud environments (e.g., Azure) to ensure reliable integration between on-premises systems, SaaS platforms, and cloud services.

  • Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies that improve system efficiency, scalability, and resilience.

Security, Compliance & Risk Mitigation
  • Administer network security controls, including firewalls, segmentation, and access controls, to protect enterprise systems and sensitive data.

  • Ensure secure network configurations and practices are maintained in alignment with established IT security governance.

  • Identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions to reduce risk exposure and strengthen overall network security posture.

Operational Continuity & Disaster Recovery
  • Execute, maintain, and test disaster recovery processes for network infrastructure to ensure system resilience and rapid recovery from disruptions.

  • Support ongoing improvements to recovery processes through testing outcomes and operational feedback.

  • Maintain system backups and ensure network components support overall business continuity objectives.

Technical Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex network-related issues, ensuring timely resolution of incidents impacting operations.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior IT staff, strengthening team capability and knowledge sharing.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to support projects, resolve issues, and maintain system performance.

Regulatory & Organizational Compliance
  • Maintain network systems in compliance with PCI DSS, HIPAA-related requirements, Tribal gaming regulations, and internal policies.

  • Support audits and regulatory reviews by maintaining accurate configurations and providing required documentation and evidence.

  • Develop, maintain, and standardize network documentation to ensure operational consistency, knowledge transfer, and audit readiness.

  • Ensure all network operations align with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians-State of Washington Gaming Compact, NIGC regulations, and internal policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have formal supervisory authority.
The role provides technical mentorship and guidance but does not have hiring, disciplinary, or performance management responsibility.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field or equivalent relevant experience required.
Relevant combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree (two years of relevant experience for each year of education).
Experience
Five (5) years of experience in network administration or engineering within an enterprise environment.
Experience must include:
  • Network design and implementation (routing, switching, wireless)

  • Network security and access control management

  • Cloud and hybrid network environments (e.g., Azure)

  • Troubleshooting complex infrastructure

Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of network architecture, security frameworks, and enterprise infrastructure design

  • Ability to analyze system performance and implement solutions that improve reliability and efficiency

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to data security and privacy

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues

  • Ability to obtain and maintain WSGC Gaming License.

  • Microsoft Azure or M365 certifications strongly encouraged

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required by business needs

  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours incidents as needed

  • Ability to maintain consistent, regular attendance

  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet enterprise insurability requirements.
  • This position requires onsite, in-office attendance and applicants must be authorized to work permanently in the United States.
