We take pride in delivering high-quality communication solutions safely while maintaining exceptional customer service and long-term client relationships. ย  ** We are currently seeking a skilled Network Operations Technician to join our Network Operations team in Calgary ** ย  This role offers the opportunity to work with enterprise networking equipment, satellite technologies, wireless infrastructure, remote communication systems, and emerging communication solutions supporting operations throughout Canada and the United States. ย  ย  Core Skills & Attributes Successful candidates will demonstrate: * Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail * Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated with professionalism and respect * A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, develop, and continuously improve technical skills * Reliability, punctuality, and flexibility, including participation in scheduled on-call rotations * Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment * Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within collaborative technical teams ย  ย  Technical Qualifications & Experience Candidates should possess: * Networking diploma or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant industry experience * 3+ years of experience in networking, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, remote communications, or related technical environments preferred ** Equivalent combinations of education and industry experience will be considered * Strong understanding of networking principles including: ** TCP/IP ** Routing and switching ** VLANs ** VPN technologies ** DHCP ** DNS ** Wireless networking ** Troubleshooting methodologies * Experience configuring, supporting, or troubleshooting enterprise networking equipment including: ** Routers ** Switches ** Firewalls ** Wireless infrastructure ** VPN solutions * Interest in Network Operations, hands-on equipment maintenance, customer support, and communications infrastructure * Ability to independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues while collaborating effectively with internal teams, clients, vendors, and field personnel * Experience with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) is considered a strong asset * Network+, Cisco, or similar networking certifications considered assets * Experience supporting satellite communication systems, remote communications environments, or industrial communication infrastructure considered an asset * Experience using Zendesk is considered an asset ย  ย  Responsibilities The successful Network Operations Technician will: * Demonstrate DataDrillโ€™s values of Family, Accountability, Excellence, Teamwork, and Honesty in all aspects of work * Assemble, configure, test, and maintain networking and communication equipment * Monitor, maintain, and support DataDrillโ€™s satellite networks and remote communication systems * Investigate, document, and resolve network incidents while escalating complex issues appropriately and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives * Provide internal and external reports relating to overall network operations and system performance * Support DataDrill field personnel and customer requests professionally and efficiently * Troubleshoot network incidents and participate in issue resolution activities within the NOC environment * Collaborate with operations, technical support, and field teams to deliver exceptional customer experience * Participate in equipment preparation and deployment activities supporting customer infrastructure requirements ย  ย  Work Schedule & On-Call Requirements This position is based in our Calgary office and follows a Monday to Friday schedule. * Standard shifts are eight hours in duration and scheduled within operational support requirements * Operational coverage is supported through staggered start schedules to maintain service availability for customers * The successful candidate will participate in the On-Call Support rotation shared among team members to provide after-hours and weekend support coverage. DataDrill provides: * Daily on-call stipend while scheduled * Overtime compensation for all remote support work completed during On-Call periods * Cell Phone, Laptop, and any other peripherals or equipment needed to effectively support clients remotely while On-Call ย  ย  Additional Requirements & Assets * Ability to safely lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs * Valid Class 5 Driverโ€™s License with clean driverโ€™s abstract considered an asset * Occasional travel to customer sites or deployment locations may be required based on operational needs Why Join DataDrill?
