Job description

Senior Network Operations Lead – Enterprise Networking & Security

Grand Rapids, MI (3 days onsite / 2 remote)

18+ Months Contract

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily NOC operations and mentor L1/L2 engineers.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex network incidents.
  • Manage P1/P2 outages, bridge calls, and incident coordination.
  • Troubleshoot network, firewall, VPN, wireless, and performance issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and drive preventive improvements.
  • Improve monitoring, documentation, SOPs, and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, cloud, and infrastructure teams.
  • Enhance network reliability, visibility, and operational readiness.

 

Required Skills

Experience with several of the following:

  • Palo Alto and Juniper SRX firewalls
  • Juniper Mist wireless
  • Cisco/Juniper switching
  • SD-WAN
  • L3 routing (especially BGP)
  • Data center networking
  • ACI / VXLAN
  • Azure or Google Cloud Platform networking
  • F5 load balancing
  • VPNs, monitoring tools, and advanced troubleshooting

 

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in network operations, engineering, or NOC leadership
  • Experience mentoring or leading support engineers
  • Expertise in routing, switching, wireless, security, and VPN troubleshooting
  • Proven incident response and outage management experience
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite 3 days per week

 

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, Palo Alto, or CISSP
  • Experience in enterprise-scale environments and cloud/data center operations
