Senior Network Operations Lead (Network Engineering)

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid) Experience: 10+ Duration: Long Term

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Operations Lead to oversee the architecture, governance, and operational excellence of enterprise-grade network infrastructure. This role will drive global SD-WAN standards, hybrid/multi-cloud networking across AWS and Azure, and advanced Network Access Control (NAC) strategies aligned with Zero Trust principles. The ideal candidate will provide strong technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of global network environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global SD-WAN architecture, defining standards for topology, routing, resiliency, and application-aware traffic steering.
  • Drive Network Access Control (NAC) strategy using Cisco ISE, implementing secure device onboarding aligned with Zero Trust principles.
  • Design and govern hybrid/multi-cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.
  • Establish scalable hub-and-spoke and transit architectures for global network operations.
  • Define and implement enterprise segmentation strategies across campus, data center, and cloud environments (VPC/VNet design, IP addressing).
  • Oversee cloud-based contact center solutions including Zoom Phone and SIP call flows.
  • Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to support disaster recovery, compliance, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Provide technical oversight for complex network issues and drive operational maturity.
  • Mentor and lead engineering teams, establishing best practices and operational standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise network architecture and engineering.
  • Deep expertise in SD-WAN, specifically Palo Alto ION SD-WAN platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing & switching, including complex BGP environments.
  • Strong experience with Cisco ISE for NAC, including 802.1X and MAB authentication.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and defining operational governance standards.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Zoom Phone and SIP call flows.
  • Active certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, AWS/Azure Cloud certifications.
