JOB SUMMARY:
The Network Administrator is responsible for the operational stability, security, and performance of the organization's network and connectivity services across all locations. This role owns day-to-day network operations while executing approved network designs and standards established by the Infrastructure & Platform Architect. The Network Administrator is expected to operate independently within defined guardrails, proactively identify risks, and ensure reliable, secure connectivity for all business operations.
Core Responsibilities
Network Operations (Primary Accountability)
โ€ข Own daily administration and support of LAN, WAN, wireless, and firewall environments.
โ€ข Configure, maintain, and monitor switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and SD-WAN components.
โ€ข Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity; proactively remediate issues.
โ€ข Serve as primary on-call resource for network-related incidents and outages.
โ€ข Execute routine maintenance, firmware updates, and lifecycle management activities.
Security & Connectivity
โ€ข Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewall rules, segmentation, VPNs, and access policies.
โ€ข Support secure connectivity between on-premise environments, cloud platforms, and third-party services.
โ€ข Enforce network security standards and participate in vulnerability remediation.
โ€ข Assist in incident response related to network security events.
Project Execution & Standardization
โ€ข Execute network projects and improvements under architectural guidance.
โ€ข Implement approved network designs, diagrams, and configuration standards. โ€ข Participate in site expansions, relocations, acquisitions, and infrastructure upgrades.
โ€ข Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements to network reliability and security.
โ€ข Contribute to documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Collaboration & Governance
โ€ข Partner closely with Systems Administrators to ensure end-to-end service reliability.
โ€ข Coordinate with the Infrastructure & Platform Architect on design validation and complex changes.
โ€ข Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and topology.
โ€ข Support audit, compliance, and security reviews related to network infrastructure.
Experience:
Required:
โ€ข 4-8 years of experience in network administration or network operations.
โ€ข Hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies (switching, routing, firewalls, wireless).
โ€ข Experience supporting multi-site or distributed network environments.
โ€ข Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues independently.
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience with cloud networking concepts and hybrid connectivity.
โ€ข Experience with network monitoring and performance tools.
โ€ข Exposure to security-focused network environments.
Education:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred: Network-related certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or equivalent).
