Job description

## Senior Network EngineerApplylocations: Beaverton, ORtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 3 Days Agojob requisition id: JR100407*Please note that we are not currently accepting resumes or additional support from talent agencies or third-party sources. Any resumes received from these sources will be considered unsolicited.**We value integrity and clear communication with our partners, and appreciate your understanding in this matter.***The role, at a glance:** We're hiring a Senior Network Engineer to serve as the technical lead for network operations and architecture across Biamp's enterprise infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll own the network function, drive architecture and modernization initiatives, and mentor a network engineer, all while keeping production and corporate networks running reliably across multiple sites. You'll work within our Infrastructure & Operations team alongside systems, platform, and service engineers, reporting to the IOPS Manager and partnering closely with our IT Architect on architectural direction. This role carries real technical authority over network decisions. You'll be expected to bring strong opinions informed by experience, lead planning and implementation for network projects, and represent the network domain in cross-functional infrastructure discussions.**How you'll contribute:*** Leading network architecture and design decisions for firewalls, switching, routing, segmentation, and WAN connectivity across a multi-site enterprise environment* Driving network infrastructure modernization projects, including core switching upgrades and firewall deployments* Owning network operations: troubleshooting, capacity planning, change management, and incident response* Managing and maintaining FortiGate firewall platforms (including 2601F series): policy management, VPN, SD-WAN, and security posture* Maintaining and evolving enterprise switching infrastructure supporting 10G/25G connectivity* Defining and tracking network performance metrics; proposing and implementing changes that improve reliability, reduce cost, and strengthen security* Operating and improving network monitoring and alerting using tools like Zabbix and Prometheus/Grafana* Maintaining accurate, up-to-date network documentation and IP address management in NetBox* Mentoring a network engineer, helping them grow technically while distributing work sustainably across the function* Collaborating cross-functionally with systems, platform, and software operations teams on shared infrastructure initiatives* Supporting manufacturing and corporate network environments with appropriate segmentation and reliability standards* Participating in incident response, postmortem documentation, and change management processes**A successful candidate should have:*** 7+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience* Strong experience with FortiGate/FortiOS firewall platforms (or equivalent next-gen firewall experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower, etc.)* Deep understanding of L2/L3 networking: routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), switching (VLANs, spanning tree, LACP), and network segmentation* Experience designing and operating multi-site WAN and LAN environments* Proficiency with network monitoring and observability tooling* Strong documentation habits. You believe the network isn't real if it's not documented* Comfort operating as the senior technical voice on network topics, including during incidents* Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (equivalent experience will be considered)**Some nice-to-haves:*** Experience with NetBox or similar IPAM/network source-of-truth platforms* Familiarity with Microsoft Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute/VPN Gateway)* Familiarity with zero-trust networking concepts or overlay networks (e.g., Tailscale, WireGuard)* Exposure to network automation or infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting)* Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments (OT/IT network considerations)* Familiarity with Linux-based infrastructure and services* Exposure to AV-over-IP or networked audio/video protocols (Dante, AES67) is a plus given our product space* Experience with Extreme Networks Fabric Engine (VOSS)* Relevant certifications (Fortinet NSE, CCNP, JNCIP, etc.) are valued but not required**Your First 90 Days:** We're in the middle of an active infrastructure modernization effort. New firewalls are deployed, core switching upgrades are in progress, and architectural decisions are being made now. You won't be onboarding into a quiet environment and waiting for something interesting to happen. • **First 30 days**: Get up to speed on the network topology, current project state, and what's already in motion. Build relationships with the infrastructure team and pair with the existing network engineer to understand priorities, pain points, and where your expertise is needed most. • **First 60 days**: Start taking ownership of network operations and contributing to active modernization work. You'll have real input into architectural decisions. We'relooking for someone who can assess what they see and bring informed recommendations, not just execute a plan someone else wrote. • **First 90 days:** Own the network function. Lead planning and implementation alongside our IT Architect, mentor the network engineer, and drive the work forward.**What we offer:*** Medical, Dental, and Vision* 3 weeks annual PTO and 9 paid holidays* 401(k) + matching* Employer-paid base life insurance, short, and long-term disability* Health savings accounts (with Biamp contribution) and flexible spending accounts* Tuition reimbursement* Charitable donation matching* Discretionary profit-sharing* Referral bonuses #J-18808-Ljbffr
