Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager Network Engineering 2 - 17855. This position is located in Clearfield, UT and supports the ICBM Sustainment Team.

This position is contingent upon program award anticipated in the second quarter of 2026.

What you'll get to do:

  • Develop and enable program network risks management process in concurrence with program risk management.

  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging Industry and DoD trends and technologies in network frameworks, management and analytics and ensure proper utilization where applicable.

  • Mentor and support building a high-performing network team.

  • Oversee the operation and personnel within a 24/7 Network Operations Center

  • Oversee patch management and vulnerability remediation programs, ensuring timely application of security updates across the network infrastructure.

  • Lead the incident management lifecycle: detection, escalation, resolution, post incident review, and root cause analysis, documenting lessons learned in a centralized knowledge base.

  • Produce and present daily, weekly, and monthly operational dashboards and executive briefings that highlight incident trends, performance metrics, and risk posture.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive runbooks, standard operating procedures, and configuration control documentation for all network services and devices,

  • Work with ISSM to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., DoD RMF, NIST SP 800 53, ITAR) and audit requirements, preparing evidence and reports as needed.

  • Collaborate with the SOC Lead, Information Security Engineer, and Information System Security Manager to ensure robust, secure, and compliant network operations.

The position follows a standard 8hour, MondaythroughFriday schedule, but as part of a 24/7 Network Operations Center you may be required to work after hours or provide oncall support.

You'll bring these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience, Master's Degree with 6 years of experience.

  • 5 years of experience in Network Operations

  • Experience developing operational dashboards, and Key Performance Indicator tracking and reporting.

  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD 8140 Certification for IAT Level II (Sec+, CySA+, CCNA-Security, CND) or higher within two (2) months of starting.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain advanced network-related certifications (ex. CCNA, CCNP) within six (6) months of starting.

These qualifications would be nice to have:

  • Experience working in a 24/7 NOC

  • Current DoD Secret Clearance

  • Knowledge of advanced networking concepts such as VPNs, and load balancing.

  • Experience with DoD STIGS and NIST security standards.

  • Experience in Windows, Linux, and Network security practices and strategies

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
