Job Description:

Responsible for providing solid support of Networking Products that involve customer-specific tests for a release, product, and solution. This role requires to develop and maintain expertise on the products deployed within the Specific Customer Networks. The Candidate should have expertise in networking fundamentals, L2/L3 protocols and hands on experience in both manual & automation of multi-dimensional scaled solutions testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.

  • Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.

  • Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.

  • Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.

  • Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

  • Typically 6-10 years experience in networking

  • Experience with internet protocols: TCP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Internet Protocols: TCP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6

  • Domain Knowledge: Cloud Provider/ Enterprise and Data Centre Technologies and AI/ML Data Center Network Technologies

  • Networking Protocols: BGP, OSPF/ISIS, ARP, VLANS, MPLS, L3VPN, MC-LAG, LACP, L2VPN, VPLS, Multicast, NGMVPN, EVPN-VXLAN, GRE, IPSec, NAT, HTTP, NetConf, etc.

  • Layer 2 technologies, Spanning Tree, LAG, MC-LAG, Virtual Chassis

  • CLOS Architecture, HA Design Concepts, EVPN

  • Test Knowledge: Prepare Test Plans, Test Execution, Understanding of Complex Customer Networks.

  • Automation: Experience in automated test execution, ability to debug automation failures, and narrow down software issues from test results and logs. Knowledge in Python/Pytest/Go or any other scripting language.

  • Expertise in use of networking test equipment like Spirent and Ixia, including automation..

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
