Position Overview: As a Level 2 Network Analyst, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of our network infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and security. You will play a key role in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, as well as providing guidance and support to junior team members. This position offers an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in network architecture and contribute to the growth and stability of our IT infrastructure.
The Network Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of Duke Health's network infrastructure. This includes provisioning, installation, configuration, monitoring, design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and daily support of network devices. The role focuses on supporting the enterprise network infrastructure across Duke Health's hospitals, clinics, data centers, and research environments. Additionally, the analyst will participate in implementing network projects of various sizes at different Duke Health locations. You will work with a team of network professionals providing 24/7/365 on-call support, both remotely and on-site, which may involve night, holiday, and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement scalable and secure network solutions to meet business requirements, including LAN/WAN design, routing protocols, and VPN configurations.
2. Lead complex network project solutions.
3. Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
4. Perform network performance monitoring and tuning to optimize resource utilization and ensure high availability.
5. Lead troubleshooting efforts for escalated network issues, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies.
6. Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network-related projects and initiatives.
8. Mentor junior network analysts and provide guidance on best practices and technical skills development.
9. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions for network improvement.
Advancement to this level requires employee, at a minimum, successfully attain the following:
Qualifications and Skills Required:
1. Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, are preferred.
2. Experience with network scripting and automation tools such as Ansible and Python preferred.
3. Requires a valid North Carolina driver's license.
4. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
5. Prior experience supporting large enterprise or healthcare networks.
6. Hands on experience with Cisco and Palo Alto firewall systems.
7. Hands on experience with Cisco NXOS and IOS operating systems.
8. In-depth knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VXLAN, and MPLS.
9. In-depth knowledge of wireless networking, including RF planning and troubleshooting.
10. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures, including multilayer switches, routing protocols, wireless networking, load balancers, and VPN technologies.
11. Experience with network security technologies and best practices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control lists.
12. Strong understanding of network architecture principles, including high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery.
13. Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools, such as SNMP, NetFlow, and packet analyzers.
14. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
15. Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
16. Proven track record of successfully managing and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
