GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Regional Project Engineer in the Pittsburgh, PAย area.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Regional Project Engineer to support and lead IT infrastructure initiatives across the Pittsburgh region and along the I79 corridor. This role is ideal for a senior-level technical professional who combines strong engineering expertise with a service-oriented mindset and the humility to assist wherever neededโ€”from complex network deployments to hands-on installation tasks.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can operate independently, communicate effectively with clients, and deliver high-quality technical solutions in dynamic environments.


Responsibilities
  • Lead and support regional projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to client organizations regarding the operation and optimization of network infrastructure and IT systems.
  • Plan, design, and assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, including switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
  • Perform structured cabling and wire installation, ensuring clean and reliable infrastructure.
  • Support and maintain Windows environments and Microsoft Server-based systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain flexibility to support both planned work and urgent service requests.
  • Travel occasionally to client sites throughout the I79 corridor to support projects and service needs.
  • Demonstrate a team-first attitude, including willingness to assist with routine or hands-on tasks when needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, switching, and infrastructure design.
  • Experience installing and configuring network switches and cabling systems.
  • Proficiency in Windows environments, system administration, and Microsoft Server technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and networks.
  • Experience supporting medium to large-scale networks.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Preferred Experienceย 

  • Experience with enterprise networking environments and multi-site deployments.
  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA, or similar.
  • Background supporting both network infrastructure and server environments.
