Job description

Job Summary:
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and operating enterprise data center and network infrastructure. This role spans compute, storage, virtualization, and network platforms, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and automation. The engineer will collaborate with transport, application, and security teams to deliver resilient infrastructure platforms.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Network Design and Implementation
  • Plan, design, and implement networking infrastructure including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst, Dell, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Configure and manage routing and switching platforms (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, VLANs, EVPN, VXLAN, etc.).
  • Design and configure data center network automation tooling to manage network fabrics at scale.
  • Implement network segmentation practices by using VLANs, policies, and inspection.
  • Identify and troubleshoot complex networking issues while using monitoring and observability tools like Zabbix, Grafana, and others.
  • Drive hardware and software lifecycle management of network infrastructure.

Data center Compute, Virtualization, and Storage
  • Configure and manage virtualization platforms across multiple data centers.
  • Develop efficient operational workflows by creating VM templates, images, and other means of rapid host and VM provisioning.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain physical server platforms.
  • Perform regular patching of BIOS, firmware, and lights out management.
  • Deploy and manage storage systems (SAN, NAS, object storage, Ceph, ZFS, RAID).
  • Manage storage resiliency through backup and replication platforms.
  • Design storage architectures for performance, resilience, and scalability.
  • Monitor storage capacity and performance while proactively addressing issues.
  • Rack/Stack, cabling, and power of on-premises hardware.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code
  • Automate provisioning and configuration using Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
  • Develop tooling using modern automation frameworks that improve deployment consistency and operational efficiency.

Operations, Communication, and Teamwork
  • Keep affected teams informed of planned and unplanned changes, significant issues, delays, and environmental impacts.
  • Ensure proper documentation of software and systems is maintained.
  • Develop projects plans and keep projects on track to meet deadlines.
  • Partner with the applications and core team to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensures leadership is informed of problems that are customer impacting.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering (network, systems, or data center operations).
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with data center networking (fiber, DAC, etc.).
  • Experience with virtualization platforms and enterprise storage systems.
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Experience with Linux and/or enterprise server operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced networking experience (BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, large-scale IP fabrics).
  • Experience with data center architectures (leaf-spine, Clos, SDN).
  • Vendor certifications (CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, VMware, Red Hat, NetApp, etc.).
  • Storage expertise (NetApp, Dell/EMC, Pure, SAN/NVMe fabrics, Ceph, ZFS).
  • Kubernetes, container platforms, or cloud infrastructure experience.
  • Experience with automation frameworks and IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience in regulated or high-availability environments (telecom, finance, healthcare).
