Job Summary
The Network Engineer 3 is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, optimization, and support of enterprise LAN, WAN, Data Center, backbone, and cloud-connected network infrastructure. This role serves as a key contributor to enterprise networking initiatives, ensuring the stability, security, performance, and availability of critical network services supporting global business operations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience supporting large-scale enterprise network environments, including routing, switching, network security, cloud connectivity, capacity management, data center networking, and operational excellence. This individual will partner closely with infrastructure, security, architecture, and operations teams to design and implement highly available networking solutions while supporting enterprise modernization and transformation initiatives. Experience supporting highly regulated environments and large-scale infrastructure programs is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Network Engineering & Design
  • Lead or participate in implementing enterprise network infrastructure solutions across LAN, WAN, Internet backbone, Data Center, and cloud-connected environments.
  • Design, review, implement, test, and validate network solutions supporting strategic business initiatives.
  • Participate in enterprise-level projects from a network engineering perspective.
  • Review industry best practices and recommend solutions that enhance network reliability, scalability, automation, and security.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, implementation plans, and engineering documentation.
  • Support enterprise data center migration initiatives and network modernization programs.
Network Operations & Support
  • Manage production network infrastructure, including:
    • Internet Protocol (IP) backbone networks
    • Data center networks
    • Edge Points of Presence (PoPs)
    • Global enterprise connectivity services
  • Ensure continuous availability and operational stability of network services.
  • Execute network changes utilizing established enterprise change management processes.
  • Monitor network health and proactively identify service-impacting risks and issues.
  • Investigate and resolve network capacity, performance, and connectivity issues.
  • Provide impact analysis and remediation recommendations for network incidents and outages.
  • Support complex multi-domain enterprise environments with mission-critical availability requirements.

  • Design, configure, and support enterprise routing and switching environments.

  • Provide training and technical guidance on network installation, configuration, and support.

Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Network Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing LAN, WAN, and Data Center networking solutions in large enterprise environments.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting IP routing technologies, including:
    • BGP
    • OSPF
    • Static Routing
  • 3+ years of experience implementing DDoS mitigation strategies and configuring ACLs in enterprise environments.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting modern routing and switching platforms, including:
    • Cisco Nexus
    • Arista Networks
