Job Description

We are looking for a Network Engineer to manage, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a statewide network infrastructure built upon a foundation of various solutions This position will be full-time and onsite in Blythewood, SC.

What You'll Do

  • Act as a point of reference for the Network Operations Center team on technical issues

  • While reporting to the Network Operations Center Manager, the Network Administrator Consultant will work on assignments that are complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems, making recommendations, and implementing changes with little to no supervision

  • Daily duties include managing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a statewide network infrastructure built upon a foundation of various solutions, such as Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Certes, and Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix technologies

  • The Sr. Network Engineer will be proactive in their approach to monitor network performance, ensure efficient communication across the network, review and improve security compliance through cybersecurity best practices, and implement updates or changes to maintain optimal connectivity and secure version compliance

  • Candidate will be part of a multi-team environment and must have the ability to work as part of those teams and must have the ability to support multiple tasks at the same time, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • The candidate will work closely with technical teams and should be able to provide knowledge transfer and informal training to peers where appropriate

  • Perform the configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of networking products

  • Troubleshoot network failures and identify network problems Network analysis, design, installation, configuration, and support

  • Maintain network diagrams and other network documentation

  • Provide configuration, troubleshooting and problem resolution support

  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues in a complex, voice-integrated infrastructure

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructures in large-scale environments

  • Extensive experience with Cisco and Meraki networking technologies, including routing, switching, wireless, and network management

  • Strong experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Palo Alto and Fortinet/FortiGate firewall solutions

  • Experience supporting and maintaining Citrix NetScaler (ADC), Certes, and Trellix security technologies

  • Demonstrated expertise in network analysis, design, implementation, configuration, and operational support

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network performance, connectivity, and infrastructure issues with minimal supervision

  • Experience managing statewide, multi-site, or geographically dispersed network environments

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies, routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and network security principles

  • Experience monitoring network performance and implementing proactive measures to ensure system reliability, availability, and optimal connectivity

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, patching, and compliance standards related to network infrastructure

  • Experience performing network hardware and software installations, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management activities

  • Ability to troubleshoot and remediate issues within complex voice-integrated network environments

  • Experience creating, maintaining, and updating network diagrams, technical documentation, and operational procedures

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate issues, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions

  • Experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar 24x7 operational environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple technical teams

  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and informal training to peers and junior team members

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound technical judgment when resolving complex networking issues

  • Relevant industry certifications preferred, such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Fortinet NSE/FCP, CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent

Physical Demands
