Job description

Description

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Architect to join our team in providing technical support to a dynamic program encompassing the management, design, deployment, operations, and maintenance of large-scale network communication systems. In this role, the candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end design and management of data transport needs between multiple sites and manage the growth with addition of sites. The ideal candidate will take the initiative, act independently to solve problems, and work in a multi-disciplinary team environment that supports a broad range of operational requirements. The candidate should be an expert with experience in network forensics and IP address tracking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end design and management of data transport needs between multiple sites
  • Translate customer network CONOPS and requirements into procurable vendor specifications
  • Develop plans for engagement with carriers for procurement of services, architecture of end-to-end transport, and coordination of the implementation of circuits, cross connects, etc.
  • Specify and deploy network encryption requirements
  • Provide strong written documentation of network architectures, vendor engagements and status, and other project developments
  • Engage with vendor engineers and customer technical leads
  • Multi-task and produce high-quality products under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate initiative and flexibility to work both individually and in a team environment with limited oversight
  • Provide effective organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Employ strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with other components to communicate processes and procedures, and facilitate program requirements
  • Provide outstanding customer service skills to meet high demand requirements
Qualifications
  • Must hold an active TS/SCI and Full Scope Poly to be considered for this role
  • Bachelor's Degree in network engineering or other relevant field, or experience may be substituted for the degree
  • Minimum of 10 years network architect experience
  • 15 or more years of relevant technical experience
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Experience architecting large scale network systems and procuring services from vendors
  • Possess deep expertise in networking, transport technologies, and have direct experience procuring transport from major carriers
