Our Technology team has 6 different departments: Information Security, Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, eCommerce & Marketing Technology, Data and Stores, Services & Supply Chain.

SUMMARY

This is a senior level position in the Enterprise Network Engineering and Operations group within PetSmart's Service Delivery department.  This position focuses on the operational support of PetSmart's enterprise network, as well as design/engineer/build/deploy activities related to project work, in support of company initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Minimum 5-10 years hands-on experience in a Sr. Network Engineer role
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
  • Management of PetSmart's production data center, home offices, distribution centers and cloud environments.
  • Capacity and performance planning, running software upgrades after hours on production platforms, data center buildouts, and change management.
  • Execute routine changes, provisioning services, and deployments during both business and non-business hours.
  • Fault isolation, service recovery, and incident analysis.
  • Develop standards, procedures, and other documentation.
  • Provide 3rd level networking support to other teams.
  • Support complex networks.
  • Continuously identify and leverage new technologies or methodologies.
  • Vendor engagement and relationship management.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
  • Provide direction and training for other network engineers.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Deep knowledge and expert level experience with advanced routing and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Advanced Arista switching with VXLan experience preferred.
  • Advanced Juniper switching skills preferred.
  • Extensive network security skills including advanced level support and administration of Palo Alto and Cisco FirePower firewalls.
  • Advanced experience with proxies, ACLs, IPsec, VPN, SSL/TLS, PKI
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco ISR/ASR series routers.
  • Extensive VLAN and VRF experience required.
  • Advanced experience with Cisco switching: Nexus 7K/5K/2K/FEX + entire Catalyst series.
  • Advanced Wireless skills, including Cisco WLCs, Cisco autonomous access points, and Mist and Meraki cloud-based access points.
  • Ability to design & support WAN connectivity to over 1690 remote sites, 7 distribution centers, and multiple remote offices.
  • Ability to design & support WAN & LAN connectivity to multiple data centers, including cloud-based data centers.
  • F5 Load Balancer configuration and support
  • SolarWinds Network Monitoring
  • VOIP and IVR experience a plus
  • SilverPeak SD-Wan experience a plus
